Responsibilities

• Performance Optimization:

  • Analyze and optimize PostgreSQL database performance to meet high-traffic demands.

  • Conduct query tuning, indexing, and database schema improvements to enhance efficiency.

  • Monitor and troubleshoot database performance issues using diagnostic tools.

• Data Migration:

  • Plan and execute data migration strategies from legacy systems to new platforms.

  • Develop scripts and tools to facilitate secure and efficient data transfer.

  • Ensure data integrity and consistency throughout the migration process.

• Database Management:

  • Maintain and manage PostgreSQL databases, ensuring high availability and scalability.

  • Design and implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures.

  • Develop and maintain database security standards.

• Collaboration:

  • Work closely with developers, product owners, and the interim CTO to align database performance with application requirements.

  • Provide technical guidance on database best practices to cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a PostgreSQL DBA or in a similar role.

• Proficiency in PostgreSQL and SQL development.

• Experience with database design, indexing, and partitioning.

• Familiarity with data migration tools and methodologies.

• Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker.

• Detail-oriented with a commitment to data accuracy and system reliability.

• Familiarity with cloud-based database services (AWS preferred).

• Proven expertise in performance tuning and query optimization.

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Strong communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

• Must possess a Bachelor's degree, Computer Science/Information Technology, Engineering (Computer/Telecommunication), Mathematics, Science & Technology or equivalent.
