Senior Fullstack Engineer

Brief

We’re looking for a Senior Fullstack Engineer to join our engineering team and help build and scale a modern commercial software platform.

You’ll be working with Node.js and AWS, developing and integrating solutions across originations, payments, fraud, and financial infrastructure.

A key part of the role is using AI development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar platforms to build, improve, test, and ship production software efficiently.

We’re looking for an engineer who is comfortable working with AI as part of their everyday development workflow while maintaining high standards for code quality, security, testing, reliability, and scalability.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain production-grade Node.js applications and services.

• Use AI coding agents such as Claude Code and Cursor as core development tools, not simply as occasional assistants.

• Translate product and business requirements into robust technical solutions.

• Use AI to accelerate development, refactoring, debugging, testing, documentation, and code generation while maintaining ownership of the resulting code.

• Build and integrate APIs with third-party commercial software.

• Develop integrations across payments, fraud, originations, and financial infrastructure.

• Work with AWS services to deploy, operate, and scale applications.

• Review and improve AI-generated code for security, performance, reliability, and maintainability.

• Refactor legacy or externally developed systems into clean, maintainable Node.js services.

• Write automated tests and ensure appropriate engineering quality gates.

• Troubleshoot production issues and contribute to observability and operational improvements.

• Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and business stakeholders.

• Make pragmatic architectural decisions in a fast-moving environment.

Qualifications:

• Strong commercial experience with Node.js / JavaScript / TypeScript

• Strong API and backend development experience

• Experience building and integrating REST APIs and other service interfaces

• Strong understanding of software architecture and engineering principles

• Experience working with AWS

• Experience with databases and data modelling

• Experience with automated testing and CI/CD

• Experience integrating third-party SaaS and API platforms

• Strong knowledge of Git and modern software development practices

• Experience using AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar

• FinTech or financial services experience is preferred

• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal

• Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-moving engineering environment

• Strong problem-solving skills and a practical, hands-on approach to development
