Responsibilities

  • Update and replace Assembler code to ensure compatibility with z/OS 2.5.

  • Work closely with the technical team to resolve compatibility issues that arose during the z/OS upgrade.

  • Collaborate with the delivery manager and other stakeholders to ensure timely project completion.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to the mainframe system, ensuring smooth functionality.

  • Ensure seamless integration and functionality of the updated application in the mainframe environment.

Job requirements

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in Mainframe/COBOL Development.

  • Expertise in products running under z/OS 2.5, including:
    • IMS DC

    • IMS DB

    • Assembler batch/online

    • COBOL

    • JCL

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.

  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

  • Familiarity with RUCSA.

  • Strong understanding of networking, security, and DNS.

  • Knowledge of Change Management processes and best practices.

  • Experience with VMware ESX/VSphere and cloud environments (GCP/AWS/Azure).

  • Familiarity with ticketing systems such as ITSM or ServiceNow.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Web Design, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
